Healing after cosmetic surgery can certainly feel confusing.

We’re here to help.

From home-tools to professional providers, here’s a list of resources to help you recover quickly and beautifully.

Tissue Healing

Get your energy back and give your cells the support they need during this healing process

IVTherapy: System-wide support during recovery.

IV therapy can support post-operative healing by delivering hydration, electrolytes, and key nutrients directly into the bloodstream for efficient absorption. This may help support energy levels, tissue repair, and overall recovery—especially when appetite or oral intake is limited.

Hydrate IV Bar Highlands Ranch is a great place to consider.

NAD+ Therapy: Advanced cellular support.

NAD+ therapy supports cellular energy production, which plays a role in how the body repairs and regenerates tissue after surgery. Some patients use it to help maintain energy levels and support overall recovery capacity during the healing process.

Fun fact, on an anecdotal level - we’ve noticed that NAD+ treatments not only help with energy levels but usually speed up bruising timelines, too.

NAD+ is also available at Hydrate IV Bar Highlands Ranch. You can get it as a standalone treatment or add it on to an IV day.

Glutathione

Glutathione IV therapy supports your body’s natural detoxification pathways after surgery, helping the liver process and clear metabolic byproducts from anesthesia. As a powerful antioxidant, it may reduce oxidative stress and support a smoother, more comfortable recovery. While not a direct treatment for anesthesia side effects, many clients report feeling clearer and less sluggish post-op.

Hydrate IV Bar Highlands Ranch has this, too!

Move safely in your new body

Post-Operative Physical Therapy is an excellent idea. It’ll help restore mobility, improve circulation, and guide the body safely back into normal movement patterns after surgery.

Reduce stiffness, support tall & proper posture (looking at you, tummy tucks!) and minimize compensations that may develop during recovery.

Guided, progressive movement helps prevent long-term restrictions and supports more efficient tissue healing, and it gives you a structured, individualized plan so you’re not guessing what’s safe or helpful at each stage.

Silicone tape

The silicone layer creates a semi-occlusive barrier that reduces water loss from the skin, keeping the scar consistently hydrated, which helps regulate fibroblast activity and reduce excessive collagen production.

It also helps normalize signaling in the skin, reducing factors that drive inflammation and overactive scar formation, while encouraging collagen to align more evenly. Over time, this can lead to scars that are flatter, softer, and less discolored.

Red Light Therapy (Photobiomodulation)

Fun fact: red light therapy is included at your post-op sessions at Summit. But! We highly recommend you get a unit for home use as well.

Here’s an affordable Amazon unit to help start your search.

Using wavelengths like 660nm (skin-level) and 850nm (deeper tissue) can help:

  • Reduce inflammation

  • Support cellular repair

  • Encourage collagen production

  • Improve the appearance of healing tissue over time

Scar Resources:

laser therapy and microneedling resources for scarring after cosmetic surgery

Laser Therapy

Laser treatments stimulate collagen production and improving skin tone and texture. Different wavelengths can address concerns such as redness, pigmentation, or uneven surfaces, helping scars become flatter, more uniform in color, and less noticeable over time.

We recommend Purity Skin Studio as our favorite South metro scar resource. Their online menu doesn’t list scars as a specific treatment option, so you’ll likely need to call their front desk.

Microneedling

Microneedling creates encourages new collagen and elastin production. This helps reorganize existing scar tissue, improving texture, pliability, and overall skin quality. Often leaving scars softer, smoother, and more blended with the surrounding skin.

Good thing we already recommended Purity Skin Studio as our laser resource up above - because they do this, too!
