Deep Tissue Massage
Targeted Relief. Intentional Pressure.
Deep tissue massage isn’t one-size-fits-all… so here at The Studios, we offer two distinct experiences.
Whether you want focused, effective work that still lets you fully relax,
or you’re one of those crazies who want to be put through a meat grinder, we’ve got you.
What Is Deep Tissue Massage?
Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic approach that targets deeper layers of muscle, fascia, and connective tissue to relieve chronic tension, reduce pain, and improve mobility.
It’s especially effective for:
Chronic neck and shoulder tension
Low back pain
Postural imbalances
Athletic recovery
Scar tissue and restricted fascia
At Summit Therapeutics, we combine precision, anatomical knowledge, and client feedback to ensure the work is both effective and appropriate for your body.
Choose Your Experience
-
Deeply Relaxing Deep Tissue
Peaceful but effective.
Results-driven work - without the flinching.
This is deep tissue for people who don’t want to suffer through their massage.
You’ll receive slow, intentional, targeted pressure that allows your body to release rather than resist. We work with your nervous system, not against it—so you can actually relax while still getting meaningful therapeutic results.
Best for:
First-time deep tissue clients
Stress + tension combined
Headaches, neck/shoulder pain
Anyone who wants results and relaxation
What it feels like:
Deep, steady, and surprisingly calming. You’ll breathe right through it. -
Barbaric Bodywork
Not for the faint of fascia
This is for the clients who mean it when they say, “beat me up, Scotty!.”
Barbaric Bodywork is intense, highly focused, and designed to break through stubborn tension patterns and adhesions. It’s not about mindless force — it’s intentional, skilled, and strategic depth.
We still prioritize safety and communication, but this work goes further, deeper, and more direct.
Best for:
Chronic, stubborn tension
Athletes and high-load training
Clients who feel like “nothing is ever deep enough”
Dense fascia and long-standing restrictions
What it feels like:
Strong, direct, and intense—with purpose behind every movement. -
The Sport "Ssage
An honorable mention - the pressure in this session is variable per your request. Its focus is more on range of motion, sport-specific movement patterns, and making sure your body is prepped & ready for your upcoming event. If you want it sporty but firm, just let us know!

Frequently Asked Questions
Is deep tissue massage supposed to hurt?
Not necessarily. Effective work doesn’t require pain. Our Deeply Relaxing option avoids the “brace and endure” experience, while Barbaric Bodywork is intentionally more intense—but always controlled and communicative.
How often should I get deep tissue massage?
For chronic issues, every 2–4 weeks is common. For maintenance, monthly sessions are typically effective.
What’s the difference between deep tissue and regular massage?
Deep tissue focuses on deeper layers of muscle and fascia, using slower, more targeted techniques to address chronic tension and dysfunction.
Can I switch styles during my session?
Yes. Your session is adaptable—we can shift intensity based on how your body responds that day.
